Kanen Kreafle, a St. Olaf College baseball player from Potomac, parlayed a summer with the Olney Cropdusters into a PGA internship at Congressional Country Club. The internship is tied to the 2027 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, which carries a record $12 million purse.

Kreafle batted .310 with a .459 on-base percentage in 10 games for the Cropdusters this summer, collecting 9 hits, 4 RBI and 4 walks in 37 plate appearances, according to Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League statistics. The Cropdusters play home games at First Responder Field at OBGC Park in Olney.

His team made history.

The Cropdusters won both the regular-season title and the 2026 CRSCBL championship, defeating the Bethesda Big Train 11-3 in the deciding game for the franchise's first title.

Beyond the diamond, Kreafle volunteered at local youth baseball and Miracle League events during the summer, according to a St. Olaf College Athletics feature published Monday, Aug. 24. The Miracle League provides adaptive baseball for children with disabilities.

After the Cropdusters' season ended, Kreafle transitioned to an internship with the Professional Golfers' Association. St. Olaf Athletics reported that he hopes to work in the sports business industry after graduating from the Division III school in Minnesota.
