A man was shot on the 12200 block of Wilkins Avenue in North Bethesda early Sunday, and no suspect has been detained, the Montgomery County Police Department said.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and is expected to recover.
MCPD described the incident as "preliminary" in a post on X on Sunday. As of Monday, the department had not issued a follow-up statement or named any suspects.
The circumstances that led to the shooting remain unclear. MCPD's initial dispatch was for a disorderly group, but police have not confirmed whether the victim was connected to that group or how the gunfire started.
