Duke's Grocery on River Road earned a finalist spot for "Best Late Night Eats" in Washington City Paper's 2026 Best of D.C. readers' poll. The regional competition drew more than 18,000 voters across D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia.

The Potomac restaurant, at 10128 River Rd., was one of three Maryland finalists in the late-night category. All three are in Montgomery County. Quarry House Tavern in Silver Spring also made the finalist list, according to The MoCo Show, which reported the results Sunday, Sept. 13.

Andy's Pizza, founded by Montgomery County native Andy Brown, took the top prize. Andy's also won "Best Pizza" in the same poll, which tallied 37,852 votes across 181 categories.

Duke's Grocery serves East London-inspired comfort food and is known for its Proper Burger. No public statement from the restaurant about the recognition had appeared as of Monday, Sept. 14.
