Potomac's closest major mall is in the middle of a tenant surge, with more than a dozen new shops and restaurants opening at Westfield Montgomery through the end of 2026.
Jewelry retailer gorjana, outdoor brand Arc'teryx, athleisure line Beyond Yoga and Japanese fusion restaurant Shiki Fusion have already opened at the Democracy Boulevard shopping center in 2026, according to the mall's website. L'Occitane en Provence reopened in a new first-floor spot, and Bethesda Auto Detailing launched in the parking garage near Nordstrom.
Three more tenants are expected to open in August: Pop Mart, the collectible-toy retailer known for its blind-box figures; Wetzel's Pretzels; and Häagen-Dazs, The Sentinel reported Wednesday, Aug. 12. As of Wednesday, Aug. 19, Pop Mart was still listed as "Coming Soon" on the mall site.
The fall lineup brings two food options: handcrafted tea chain HEYTEA and Japanese restaurant Kami Ramen, both targeting October openings. Household-goods and pop-culture retailer MINISO and apparel brand PacSun are set to return later in 2026 after previous stints at the mall.
The biggest addition lands in December, when Zara plans to debut a two-level store, relocating from its current space in the Nordstrom wing.
Not every storefront is filling. Women's clothing retailer Windsor permanently closed its Westfield Montgomery location around Sunday, Aug. 16, after about seven years, Patch reported.
Senior general manager Jason Dyer said in an Aug. 12 statement that the center is entering "a new era of development." The mall also announced Kristen Baker as its new marketing manager, citing her background in retail, beauty and food-and-beverage marketing.
Westfield Montgomery, at 7101 Democracy Blvd. in Bethesda, is anchored by Nordstrom and Macy's and includes an AMC theater. Mall hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
