Anthony DeFrank is now running the golf operation at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm, one of Potomac's most prominent private clubs.

The club promoted DeFrank from assistant golf professional to head golf professional, according to a Club + Resort Business industry roundup published Aug. 5. The PGA's facility directory already lists him in the top golf role at the 10000 Oaklyn Drive club.

DeFrank announced the move on LinkedIn on July 28, crediting club general manager Ned Graff for the opportunity and thanking his predecessor, Jason Rivard.

"I look forward to continuing everything you've built with this team," DeFrank wrote, addressing Rivard and calling the foundation he left "strong."

Before the promotion, DeFrank ran the TPC Potomac Junior Academy player development program and offered individual private lessons at the club. He holds PGA membership. Daniel L. Neben continues as director of instruction, per the PGA directory.

The club has not issued a public statement about the transition. DeFrank succeeds Rivard, whose departure date has not been disclosed.

One event already on the calendar at the club: the Congressional Award Foundation's 31st Annual Golf Classic, scheduled for Monday, Sept. 28, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
