Churchill's undefeated Bulldogs travel to Quince Orchard on Friday, Oct. 2, to face the state's top-ranked team and its 31-game win streak.

The Bulldogs (4-0) kick off at 6:30 p.m. in Gaithersburg against the Cougars (4-0), the two-time defending Maryland Class 4A state champions. No other Week 5 game pits two undefeated MCPS teams against each other.

Quince Orchard is ranked No. 1 in the state by MaxPreps and No. 5 in Sports Illustrated's Maryland Top 25. The Cougars have outscored opponents 151-6 through four games. In their Sept. 24 shutout of Seneca Valley, junior quarterback Carter Dailey threw five touchdown passes for 210 yards.

Head coach John Kelly's defense has allowed six points in four games, according to Bethesda Magazine. Ryan Drakeford, running back Damien Hurtado and receiver Rafferty Bankert have powered the offense alongside Dailey, per Capital Sideline.

Churchill enters ranked No. 22 by Sports Illustrated and No. 15 by MaxPreps. The Bulldogs have built momentum through four wins: 20-19 over Bethesda-Chevy Chase, 28-13 over Northwest, 35-6 over Walter Johnson and 35-14 over Walt Whitman.

Senior quarterback Hunter Humphries ranks fourth in Maryland with 835 passing yards through four games, according to MaxPreps statewide leaders. Against Walter Johnson, Humphries completed 13 of 15 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored on the ground as the Bulldogs piled up 469 yards.

Senior wide receiver AJ Wiseman ranks sixth in the state with 353 receiving yards. On the other side of the ball, senior defensive end Saahir Lester recorded 13 tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble against Whitman on Sept. 24. Sports Illustrated included Lester among its Maryland player of the week candidates.

The teams met last season, when Quince Orchard handed Churchill its only regular-season loss. The Cougars went on to win the state title.

Only three MCPS teams remain undefeated entering Week 5: Quince Orchard, Sherwood and Churchill. Damascus fell from the list after a 30-3 loss to Oakdale on Sept. 26.
