Mykonos Grill, the Greek restaurant just off Rockville Pike since 1998, will close Dec. 31. Owner Angelo Mitsotakis plans to bring the kitchen to Cabin John.

Mitsotakis told Store Reporter, which first reported the closure, that he is shifting his focus to the Mykonos Restaurant at Cabin John Village. That location opened June 13, 2025. Mitsotakis and his wife, Rodi Tzani, co-own it.

Mitsotakis said the Rockville chef will transfer to Cabin John, and about 80 percent of the old menu will follow at the same prices.

"Eighty percent of the menu — the trout, the swordfish, the moussaka, the oven-baked potatoes, the bread — is going to be moving over from Rockville, and the prices will be the same," Mitsotakis told Store Reporter.

The Cabin John restaurant replaced Broadway Pizza in the Cabin John Village shopping center. The space was rebuilt into an upscale Greek restaurant with an indoor-outdoor U-shaped bar after two years of construction delays, Store Reporter reported in June 2025.

The menu already features dishes not on the Rockville menu, including branzino baked in salt crust, lamb shank with pasta, seafood youvetsi and Greek-style paella.

The closure continues a pattern of consolidation for Mitsotakis. He closed his fast-casual restaurant Gyroland at The Shops at Congressional Village in November 2025 after the shopping center was sold to a group converting it into a hub for Asian businesses. At the time, he told Store Reporter he would keep serving Gyroland's gyros, wraps and sandwiches at Mykonos Grill in Rockville starting Dec. 1, 2025.

Now that Rockville location is closing too. Mykonos Grill at 121 Congressional Lane will serve its last meal at the end of the year.

Mitsotakis has not announced a specific date for the Rockville menu items to appear at the Cabin John location.
